Alterra Mt. Co. is more than the Ikon pass. It is redefining mountain adventure by connecting destinations, expanding access to the outdoors, and fueling a deeper sense of excitement around the alpine experience. After several years of quietly elevating its portfolio of resorts, the time had come for a brand refresh that truly reflected its broader ambition. That’s where we came in. With deep roots in mountain and snowboard culture, our team was uniquely positioned to help shape and launch the brand’s next chapter.

Aligning Identity with Ambition

After new leadership stepped into place, the organization began partnering with its internal team to evolve the brand—shifting it beyond its close association with a single product and action-sports roots toward a more expansive, mission-driven identity. That’s where we came in. Our role was to collaborate closely with the team to translate this renewed vision into a compelling, forward-looking digital experience that brought the brand’s evolution to life.

Where Alpine Experience Meets Digital Craft

The refreshed brand is driven by bold, immersive visuals that reflect the scale and energy of the mountains. The challenge was translating that impact into digital without compromising accessibility. With dramatic contrasts between bright snow and dark tree lines, we approached imagery and typography with intention, preserving the vibrancy while meeting modern standards. We designed the user journey to feel fluid and intuitive, like moving down a mountain run, supported by a dynamic color palette that echoes the rhythm of changing terrain.

Shaping a Brand That Brings People Outdoors

With the brand evolving in real time, a traditional, linear approach would not have been effective. We brought the team into the process from the very beginning, working as a unified group with shared ownership. Every decision was grounded in what makes mountain culture so compelling, from powerful photography and authentic stories to the exhilaration of standing at the top of a run. The result is a digital experience that feels as immersive and expansive as the mountains themselves.

The success of the initial phase led to continued collaboration and additional initiatives. Since launch, the platform has been embraced across the organization and its resort network. It has become more than a website. It now serves as the digital core of the brand, authentic in spirit, purposeful in message, and an open invitation for people everywhere to step outside and find their adventure.
